My town is really scene.

Yesterday I went to AS220's 20fest, and it was great. About 20 times as great as Pridefest, which makes sense as it has happened 20 times less often. Firstly because the stuff there was just more exciting, and secondly because I felt more "at one" (or something) with the people there, and thirdly... I just realised that I didn't find anyone at Pridefest that attractive, and there were a couple of really hot butch-ish but probably not queer scene girls at 20fest. Everyone was really really scene, and obviously having an amazing time despite looking miserably bored. There was tea, and a Melanie's Vegan Eden booth with delicious veggie wraps, one of which I bought and ate but then got really hungry and bought sweet and sour chicken from China Star and then beef jerky from the convenience store and was forever ruined. Am I the only person who really likes vegan/vegetarian food and still eats meat with minimal shame?

The guys giving out tea asked me if I was a RISD student, and then commented on all the younger people there and "where do they all come from?"

I fell in love with Providence/the air/the music, and it was pretty pathetic. I also wore the best shirt in the universe, which I am also in love with. I briefly wondered how much more wonderful it would be if I had been in love with an actual human being at the time. This was brief because I am a realist, and in reality I am never in love with actual human beings.

Some of the bands that played were pretty good, and others were stupid. Jared Paul did a performance and it was pretty good - at one point some police officers came up to him and asked him to stop swearing, and after telling them he respected their request because they do a good job and don't get paid enough (one cop's facial reaction to this was pure disregard), he tried to not swear for about two minutes and then pretended it had never happened.

In conclusion, I wonder if I should be an anarchist.

No, I love vegetartian food and I can eat some meat with minimal shame.

I wonder if I should be an anarchist.

I'll join you if you do.

Everyone was really really scene

What does "scene" mean in this context?

Uhhh, this might be of some help.

Providence scenesters are primarily into anarchism, local bands, spoken word, and vegan food. And going to things like 20fest that feature such things.

Aha. Thanks for clearing that up. :-)
